CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS ZOMBIES MOBILE:
is a first-person shooter video game developed by Treyarch, published by Activision and released worldwide on November 9, 2010 for the Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and Nintendo DS platforms. Announced on April 30, 2010, the game is the seventh installment in the Call of Duty series, and the first set during the Cold War. It is the third in the series to be developed by Treyarch, being a direct sequel to Call of Duty: World at War.
In the first 24 hours of release, the game sold over 5.6 million units, 4.2 million in the United States and 1.4 million in the United Kingdom, beating the record set by its predecessor, Modern Warfare 2, by approximately 2.3 million copies.
On May 1, 2012, the sequel Call of Duty: Black Ops II was revealed for release in November 2012.
Overview:
Black Ops is a first-person shooter game. The player assumes the role of a war veteran who can wield several different weapons (being able to carry only two at a time), throw hand grenades and use various types of equipment.
Campaign:
The player assumes the role of several characters during the single-player campaign, changing perspectives as the story progresses. The playable characters are special forces agents conducting clandestine missions behind enemy lines. As such, each character has their own characteristics, such as voices and shadows.
The missions feature a series of objectives shown on the heads-up display, which marks the direction and distance to be reached to complete each objective.
The player is accompanied by allied troops throughout their journey. Although primarily a first-person shooter, the player can also pilot a Mil Mi-24 helicopter and guide troops from an SR-71 Blackbird reconnaissance aircraft.
The campaign features several scripted moments in a cinematic style, such as the "Victor Charlie" mission, when a shot fired at Viet Cong soldiers takes on a bullet-time effect.
Multiplayer:
Black Ops' online multiplayer mode generally revolves around two teams engaged in a specific mission.
In "Team Deathmatch" and "Hardcore Team Deathmatch", for example, the team with the highest kill count wins, while in "Capture the Flag", players must acquire the opposing team's flags and take them to their own base. In addition, there is the "Free For All" mode, in which players are not incorporated into teams, and thus play solo. Not including the extra levels available for download, there are 14 different maps.
Zombies:
The game also features a cooperative mode called "Zombies", which aims to fight against a zombie invasion. Initially designed for World at War, it was reworked for inclusion in Black Ops. On the "Five" map, players can take on the role of John F. Kennedy, Richard Nixon, Robert McNamara or Fidel Castro. There is also a map based on the original game, called "Kino der Toten" (Cinema of the Dead in German). There is no official information, but the Kino der Toten map bears a strong resemblance to the Nazi theater that appears in the 2009 film Inglourious Basterds. This level features characters from World at War — Edward Richtofen, Tank Dempsey, Takeo Masaki and Nikolai Belinski.
